The Pure Resonance Audio SP8 SoundPlane is a full-range ceiling tile speaker designed to drop into a 2'x2' suspended grid ceiling without having to cut holes or modify ceiling tiles. This offers a fast, easy, and cost-effective solution that saves installation time, effort, and expenses. The SP8 can replace multiple single speakers and provides approximately 20' x 20' or 400 sq ft of audio coverage from a single speaker. A built-in adjustable 70V 10-watt transformer is conveniently accessible and located on the side of the rear back-box. The 2x2 drop-in ceiling speaker contains a full-range 8" treated paper main cone driver, a secondary high frequency cone, with a 10 ounce magnet. The fully enclosed back-can is constructed of industrial-grade steel. The solid white panel with a perforated speaker grille seamlessly blends with the decor in most acoustic drop ceiling tiles. Built-in seismic safety strap tabs are integrated on the steel back-can for suspension mounting from ceiling points (consult your architect or engineer before installing).
